Coach Kaylen was born and raised in Hope Mills, North Carolina. She graduated from Methodist University in May of 2020 where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (concentrated in Healthcare) and minor in Psychology. She is currently working full-time as a rehabilitation technician in hopes of becoming an Occupational Therapist in her years to come. Kaylen was a former competitive gymnast from Omega Gymnastics, she started gymnastics at age 3 and at age 8 she was asked to be a part of the competitive team. As a gymnast she traveled up the East Coast to compete against the very best, receiving many awards and being recognized for her achievements. One of Kaylen’s many accomplishments was qualifying to compete for the North Carolina State Team. At age 10, Kaylen started taking ballet classes to help with her posture in gymnastics. She continued dancing until she graduated high school but stopped doing gymnastics when she entered high school to focus on her studies.
Kaylen attended an early college high school in Fayetteville called, Cumberland Polytechnic High School and graduated in May of 2017. Soon after Kaylen stopped doing gymnastics, she knew that she didn’t want to waste her talent from being a gymnast. So, she decided to share it with the new generations to come by becoming a gymnastics/tumble coach. Kaylen began assistant teaching at first in her young teenage years and then began teaching at the age of 17. Throughout her years as a gymnast and teacher, she has learned invaluable spotting skills, correct hand placement techniques, and has even been SafeSport Certified. Kaylen is a very passionate tumble teacher; her main goal is to keep a positive atmosphere and to help her students strive to meet their goals.
You can find her with her family or playing with her Sheepadoodle named Winston.
